What type of images can I upload?
TL;DR: upload images you own — photos you took, art you made — and public domain images. Don’t upload other people’s work, and nothing that wouldn’t belong on a family coloring website.
When you turn a photo into a coloring page, your original image stays private — only the finished coloring page is published on Coloring Monster. You’re responsible for having the rights to any image you upload, which is why the upload form asks you to confirm it.
Good to upload
- Photos you took yourself — your family, your pets, your garden, your vacation.
- Artwork and designs you created and own the rights to.
- Public domain images — works whose copyright has expired, or images explicitly released to the public domain (like CC0).
- Images you have permission to use — for example, a photo a friend took and said you could use.
Not allowed
- Images you don’t own — including images you found on Google Images, social media, or other websites. Finding an image online doesn’t make it free to use.
- Anything inappropriate for a family coloring website — our pages are colored by kids. No nudity or suggestive content, graphic violence or gore, hate symbols, or drug content.
- Images mocking or defaming real people, or photos of identifiable people used without their permission.
- Logos, watermarks, and text designed to be reproduced — coloring pages are for art, not for copying marks.
How uploads are reviewed
Every upload is automatically reviewed before we draw the page — images that break these rules are rejected and nothing is created. If something slips through, we remove it when we find it or when it’s reported.
